Every day, a 94-year-old U.S. Navy Vet stands outside a middle school and offers advice and fist bumps

They call him Mr. Knuckles.

Every day, 94-year-old U.S. Navy veteran Wally Richardson stands outside of Marnina Village Middle School in El Dorado Hills, California, offering the students who pass him smiles, words of wisdom, and fist bumps.

Richardson has been standing outside the school for the last 10 years, and he never fails to make kids smile. There is even a mural at the school of him with the kind words he has spread to the students.

"When I drove by, I saw him, and my heart burst," a mom of a student said. "He’s like an angel, you can’t help but feel calm and peace when you go near him."

"There are kids in college who still remember how he greeted them," the mother said.
